12th Annual Kelly Mohring Memorial Golf Classic

August 9th, 2011
Forest City National Golf & Country Club, London

The UTRCA hosted the 12th annual Kelly Mohring Memorial Golf Classic on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at the Forest City National Golf Club in London.

Kelly, the UTRCA’s development planner, passed away in March 2000 after a brave battle with cancer. This golf tournament raises money for a Trust Fund the UTRCA established for Kelly’s daughter, Hailey, who has severe cerebral palsy.

Hailey is now 13 years old and is growing up with her dad, Jeff. She attends school but will always require specialized before and after school care. Funds raised by the golf tournament cover the cost of this service. Massage therapy helps Hailey to maintain a level of flexibility and relieves some of the pain associated with her condition. Again, the golf tournament proceeds support this service. In 2010, these Trust Fund expenditures, along with some equipment purchases, totalled over $25,000.

The Kelly Mohring Golf Classic is the main fundraiser for the Trust Fund. We are pleased to report that the 2011 tournament raised over $20,000! We offer a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our sponsors for helping us provide this important support to Hailey.

The funds raised at the golf tournament are managed by the Hailey Mohring Trust Fund. The seven Trustees have developed a set of criteria for decision-making. They consider requests for services and equipment purchases and repairs and assist with these expenses if the request meets criteria and funds permit. Hailey’s family also pursues all alternate sources of funding and services.

Thank you so much to all our supporters - you are making a tremendous difference in Hailey's life.
