River Safety Program

This in-class stream-proofing program consists of a series of hands-on activities designed for Grade 2 students. The main objective is to help children in our communities develop:

  • an understanding of river systems,

  • an awareness of the hazards associated with waterways, and
  • the ability to make appropriate safety decisions.

Students are introduced to our water droplets Splish and Splash and participate in four activities: "The Journey of Splish and Splash", "Exploring the Watershed", "Splish/Splash Bingo" and "Where are Splish and Splash?".

This program is funded through the generosity of local service clubs, community groups and businesses. Community education staff will contact you if funding is secured for your school.
