Design Storms CD ROMOver the past few years, the UTRCA has been assembling a reference manual on the use of design storms for hydrologic modelling in the Upper Thames watershed. This manual is intended to be used by consultants, municipalities, students and others who are performing hydrologic analysis in the Upper Thames region. Though the use of this information will not be a requirement for UTRCA approvals we are encouraging all who are involved in work related to, or are interested in floodplain management, stormwater management and local meteorology to familiarize themselves with this document. The document covers the following main topics from a regional perspective:
The document has been incorporated into an interactive CD-ROM that allows you to browse the AES data and contains a module that will create ASCII storm distribution files to assist in the development of hydrologic models. Note: It is advised that anyone using this data or the module read the manual before hand. Please note that the data contained on the Design Storms CD-ROM is current to 2004. DISCLAIMER: BEFORE USING THIS SOFTWARE YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL A LOCAL COPY OF A PDF READING SOFTWARE (ADOBE ACROBAT or FOXIT PDF READER). The UTRCA Design Storms Report CD is intended to be used as a tool in hydrologic modeling within the Upper Thames River watershed. The material contained on this CD is not to be considered as design criteria nor is its application necessary for approvals by the UTRCA. All decisions made based on the information provided on this CD are to be made by a professional. It is the responsibility of the professional to ensure its accuracy and applicability. The design storm browser on this CD allows the user to select design storms and save them to their computer for use in hydrologic modeling. The user MUST read the accompanying documentation "Report" and "Appendix" before using the storms provided by the browser. The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority accepts no liability for any damages caused by the use of these design storms. AES Data was purchased by the UTRCA to be sold at cost by the UTRCA to persons undertaking studies or designs within the Upper Thames River watershed. The UTRCA has not reviewed this data for accuracy. The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority accepts no liability for any damages caused by the use of this data. Prepared copies of this CD can be purchased from the UTRCA at cost, or downloaded below. The download file is a disc image (.iso) file, which can be downloaded in the ZIP file. In order to use the file you must write the image to a blank CD. This can be done in almost any CD/DVD burning program using the "write image to disk..." option, or something similar. Once burned the disk should autorun upon insertion.
Please check our revisions page for any changes to the file, if you downloaded the file prior to the date above. CD jacket and disk labels are also available in PDF format: Please also take the time to browse the other
downloads we have made available on the site. Your comments related to the material in the
manual would be very much appreciated. |
