UTRCA Environmental Planning Policy Manual
June 28, 2006

On June 28, 2006 the UTRCA Board of Directors approved the Authority's Environmental Planning Policy Manual. This Manual consolidates the Authority's policies, which guide development and site alteration while protecting, preserving and enhancing the natural environment in the watershed. In effect, the policies implement the Authority's integrated systems approach for watershed planning and will be applied by UTRCA staff through the Conservation Authority's Environmental Planning Services program.

The Environmental Planning Policy Manual is considered to be a valuable tool for the UTRCA's Board of Directors and staff as well as for our watershed municipalities, the land development industry and the public.

The Policy Manual is posted below as pdf files. Please help generate awareness of the document by telling your colleagues and associates about it.

If you have any questions about the manual, please contact , Land Use Planner (phone: 519-451-2800 ext. 293, fax: 519-451-1188).

The Environmental Planning Policy Manual is available in small sections or as one large file.

Supporting Document: Flood Plain Planning Policy Statement Implementation Manual (1988)

The Flood Plain Planning Policy Statement Implementation Manual (1988) was prepared by the Province in cooperation with the Conservation Authorities to assist with implementation of the 1988 Flood Plain Planning Policy Statement. The manual provides clear guidance to implementation agencies (Conservation Authorities, Municipalities, MNR and MMAH) on how to integrate the risk management concepts of flood plain management into local municipal planning documents. Implementation agencies across the Province have been trained on the use of the manual, which has had a profound effect on both the methods and the consistency of flood plain policy implementation over the years.
