Stoney Creek Report Card

In 2001, the UTRCA graded 28 watersheds on their surface water quality and forest conditions. By identifying where the best and poorest environmental conditions are in the Upper Thames basin, efforts can be targeted to watersheds that are in most need of protection or restoration. The Stoney Creek watershed received a grade of “D” for surface water quality and “C” for forest conditions.

Since then much environmental work has been done, new stressors have developed in some watersheds, and more data and information have become available. The 2007 Upper Thames River Watershed Report Cards reflect these changes. The report cards provide an updated assessment of the current water and forest conditions and a comparison with the 2001 findings. The Stoney Creek watershed received a grade of “C” for surface water quality and a “D” for forest conditions.
